1. PRIMAVERA SOUND 2016 (1st-5th June):

The one we just experienced, is with no doubt one of the favorite festivals for the people from Barcelona: the sun and the sea as a background and over 100 bands playing at the esplanade in the Parc del Forum. Do you get an idea of it? Moreover, for the first time in the history of PS (well-established abbreviation for Primavera Sound) all tickets have been sold out: all of them! Both the three-day passes as well as the one-day tickets. And the ones responsible for that have been the unbelievable bands confirmed in advance for this recent edition: Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, Tame Impala, Air, Beach House, Mudhoney, Neon Indian or Beirut… among many others.

>What else should you know about this festival for upcoming years? The first edition of Primavera Sound took place in 2001 at Poble Espanyol and since 2005 it takes place at Parc del Fòrum, a bigger venue and by the see. It is with no doubt one of the most integrated urban festivals in the city. Due to the wide range of bands attending the festival, PS has also become a meeting point for artists and spectators of various generations.

2. SÓNAR 2016 (16-18 June):

If you like electronic music, this is clearly your festival. The Sonar has deserved and earned to become the world reference in electronic music festivals.

Did you know that, after two decades of history, the festival has also been exported to other cities? Stockholm, Tokyo or Cape Town are some examples. Impressive, isn’t it? Its origin is in Barcelona, however, and that’s where it has a stronger impact; being year after year the most expected festival for many locals and thousands of tourists, who take the opportunity to visit the city and listen to the best electronic music offer, as well as creative and artistic projects. This festival is definitely much more than just music; it is pure creativity! The festival always counts on multiple side exhibitions: robotics, art, electronics, … etc.

This year, from 16th to 18th June, Djs such as Fatboy Slim, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier or legendary bands like New Order or Flume will make you dance like crazy at the Fira de Barcelona (Barcelona’s Fair). Are you going to miss it?
